Summer Term - Weeks 1 & 2

Hello lovely Year 4!

I hope you've eaten far too much chocolate and enjoyed the sun these past few weeks.

Here is your new work all ready for you for the first part of the Summer Term... I will add some more Topic resources after the first 2 weeks.

Email me to let me know how you are getting on, all the interesting things you've been doing and if you have any queries.  jfoster@stcatherinesbriport.dorset.sch.uk

Stuck for ideas on what to read next?

Check out this list for Y4 recommended reads below.

Audibles also has a free online service too if you like to listen to books.
SUMDOG COMPETITION

Well done to all of you for taking part in Week 2 - over half our class did, we finished well within the top 20 schools and answered 3288 questions altogether! What a team!

Don't forget you can continue to play and enjoy Sumdog any time - and improve your Maths skills as you go.
Happy Earth Day!

Hello again Year 4!

Thank you for all those who have emailed me to say how much you are enjoying the Viking work I have set and asking for your Times Tables Rockstars passwords. (I didn't choose the passwords by the way - some of them are a bit funny! He he!) Get in touch if you want yours...

For those parents who want a more straightforward daily option than the work I have set, you can try the BBC Bitesize daily lessons (link on the home page). My son (also in Y4) has trialed them. He doesn't always get through all of the work suggested - we think 2 hours is enough! But it has some funny videos. My son says, "It's quite fun. Sometimes there are too many sheets but the videos are good. I enjoy this way of learning. I think your class might like it too."

The only thing I would love them to do every day is read - and maybe just check out my Viking Topic plan!

Hope it's going well. We are all in the same boat here - I am home schooling too - some days are better than others!
