Summer 2 Week 6

Looking Back and Looking Forward

Hello Home Learners

We are nearly there! Well done for all the hard work you have put into your home learning.  Usually at this time of the year in school we would be thinking about what we have achieved so far and what exciting adventures are to come.

We have found activities this week to help you think about the past, present and future.

Have a great week.

P.S We are still counting the house points.......

Ideas for the Past:

*It's National Archaeology Week (11th - 19th July)  and Young Archaeologists' Club website and National Geographic Kids both have lots of great activities.

*Bridport Museum has lots of great photos and artefacts.   Visit the site and scroll through the different objects they have kept from the distant and recent past so we can learn from them for our future.

*Reflect on your year and complete the memory sheet.

Ideas for the Present:

*Although we are in different times there are still things we can be thankful for. Can you make a list of all the good things in your life? Draw a picture or write a letter to yourself telling all those good things about being you.

*If you have parcels delivered to you in a box don’t throw the box away. Why not decorate it and make it into a memory box of this time? Use pens, paints or pictures from old magazines and leaflets to decorate outside and perhaps some old material for the inside. Then you can put all your memories, stories, pictures, favourite books, things you have made inside and it will be your own time capsule.

*Live in the moment and try some mindfulness challenges.

Ideas for the future:

*After watching 'What shall I do with my rubbish' on BBC Bitesize could you design a poster encouraging people to not litter? Where will this poster be for, the town, the seaside, in the countryside? Remember different places face different problems and have different solutions.

*What does the future hold? We live in a world that is constantly changing and everyday it seems to change more quickly. What do you think the world will look like five, ten or even fifty years time? What would be the same? What would ne different?

*Set yourself some goals for the future.
