Welcome to Sycamore Presentation for parents.
The children in Sycamore take part in guided reading groups and are heard individually each week. We encourage them to read a range of fiction and non-fiction texts. We also have a reading for pleasure session where children can read or bring in a chapter , picture, reference or comic of their choice and share it with their friends.
We would like you to read with your child as much as possible. Please record this in their reading record and your child will earn extra house points.
We have weekly spelling tests on a Thursday. The spellings for the following week are also introduced every Thursday. We will use their reading record to let you know how they achieved.
