Miss Georgina Coombs
Chair of Governors
GCoombs@stcatherinesbridport.dorset.sch.ukGeorgina has been a member of The Local Governing Body since 2013. Recently she has been part of the IAB and is now The Chair of Governors. Georgina has a background in the dramatic arts and is The Principle of an Academy which teaches drama to primary school children in and around West Dorset. Georgina has a passion for helping children and adults to communicate with others to their best ability. Georgina is also the Governor Lead for Religious Education and Safeguarding, and as a Foundation Governor and member of the parish of St. Catherine's, has a strong commitment to connecting the school with the parish and the local community.

Mrs Teresa Sturtivant
Associate Governor
Teresa has joined the recently established Local Governing Body as an Associate Governor after Chairing St Catherine’s Interim Academy Board since September 2017. She has been involved in school governance for over twenty years both as a volunteer governor and in a professional capacity as a governor trainer. Teresa’s background is in providing training and guidance in the rural sector, with expertise in finance and business management systems. With a passion for ‘life-long learning’ she is keen to share her knowledge, experiences and skills to support schools in delivering a high quality education that meets the needs of all pupils. Teresa is the governor with responsibility for monitoring the school provision for Special Educational Needs and Pupil Premium. Teresa is fully committed to continuing St Catherine’s school improvement journey and as an Associate Governor, looking forward to helping the LGB engage more fully with parents, the parish and wider community.

Ms Claire Hewitt
Parent Governor
chewitt@stcatherinesbridport.dorset.sch.ukClaire recently joined the new Governing Body as a Parent Governor. Her daughter is currently in Key Stage 1 at St Catherine’s. Claire has been a teacher for nearly twenty years, mostly working in Dorchester at Upper Key Stage 2 and Lower Key Stage 3. She is interested in all aspects of teaching and learning including the pastoral side of school life which she feels is key to a child's happiness and success. Claire has lived in Bridport for most of her life and enjoys being part of the community here.

Mr Nick Tindal
Foundation Governor
Nick is a member of Bridport Parish and currently works for the Air Ambulance Society. Nick has had a long career in the forces and was in charge of training all the personnel at Westlands. Nick has had experience with OFSTED and is looking forward to helping move St Catherine's forward, along with the staff, to become even more successful and a truly happy place to be.

Mrs Paula Fearn
Foundation Governor
head@stmarysdorchester.dorset.sch.ukPaula is a Foundation Governor, with a daughter at St Catherine’s, as a family they are members of Bridport Catholic Parish.
Paula has been a Primary teacher for nearly 20 years and is passionate that every child has the opportunity to fulfil their God given potential through rich learning experiences.

Fr Keith Mitchell
Parish Priest - Foundation Governor
Fr Keith became Parish Priest of Bridport Catholic Parish in autumn 2019. He has been a governor of several schools, both senior and primary, in the Plymouth Diocese. He believes our schools to be a real and valued part of the parish family and is concerned to increase school, home and parish cooperation. He also has a particular care for the Catholic life of the school and Religious Education across the years.

Mrs Becky Pattinson-Smith
Staff Governor
bthomas@stcatherinesbridport.dorset.sch.ukBecky has been involved with St Catherine’s for over 20 years since all four of her children were pupils at the school. Becky has worked at St Catherine’s for over 17 years, first as a lunchtime supervisor and now as a Teaching Assistant in EYFS.

Mrs Sarah Terrey
Head Teacher
office@stcatherinesbridport.dorset.sch.ukSarah joined St Catherine’s in January 2020 from St George’s Primary School in Portland where she was SEN Co. Sarah has been teaching for over 25 years and has taught every year group, from Reception to Year Six during her career. Sarah has two children and has been a foster carer for 10 years. Sarah believes that education, kindness and respect are the corner stones for a happy childhood and that every child deserves the support to be the best that they can be.

Miss Emily Fearn
Clerk to the Governors
efearn@stcatherinesbridport.dorset.sch.ukEmily was born in Bridport and attended St Catherine's RC Primary school as a child. She joined the school in January 2021 as Clerk to the Board, which means she looks after the paperwork and compliance, among other things, and as an admin assistant to Miss Sherrin in the school office. Emily firmly believes that an ethos of kindness, respect and hard work make for a happy child who will grow up to be a worthwhile and productive member of society.
